Kim Clijsters retired from her match yesterday after leading with 6-1 3-2 to Stephanie Dubois.
She complained of an injury to her left wrist, notably the wrist she also took time to recover from last year. The defending champion will therefore not be competing in the US Open but will instead rest for 8 weeks .
